I want.

I really like these chairs and this dining room table. My curtains might be too busy for it, but I might have to put this on my list to Santa. . .

Bathroom Tile

Here is our initial pick for tile. It is very modern, which may be okay, because the house itself is kind of modern.
This would go around the tub.

These glass tiles would go up the tub surround up on the shower portion.

This is what the tile looks like as an example. I think it kind of looks blah here. . .

Wait for the dust to settle

I was going to post an update on the main bathroom construction, but I think I need to wait for the drywall dust to settle before any shots will work. On a separate note - Ben has this wicked cough. We can't figure out why. . .

Current Project #1 - The Fireplace

With it being November and all, we figured it was time to start getting the fireplace working. But, to do that, we would need to make sure the flue was in place, which it isn't. But, to get that fixed, we would need to put the granite in place around it, so it is fire-proof. But to do that, we would need to make sure the floor and walls were straight, which they weren't. Then we'd have to pick out granite, and agree on one color and design, which we don't. So . . . Ben is working on the project 100% on his own. It is his baby, all preference and logistics to his liking and decision. As trade off, I get to pick out the tile for the bathroom.

-- Updated with finished fireplace. Ben definitely left his mark on the house with this one.

Hatin' on the Pink

If you ask a 4 year old girl what color she wants her room to be, there is a 99% chance you are going to end up with "Pink!!" as the answer. Shortly after the demo, I started the first paint job - C's room. I have a tendency to jump the gun and not do enough prep work with projects. So, being conscious of this, I wiped down the walls, filled the holes, etc. Things were going well as I painted the first color of pink that would act as the light colored border. Then I taped off the squared and began working on the medium and darker pink colors. Then I peeled off the tape. . .

So, after about 27 hours of rework, it was done!

The Wildlife

Ben sprayed for spiders. . . here is one that decided to 'hang on.'

This is what we saw 8 am Saturday morning from the master bedroom window.

So soft. . .

Stairs to the basement

front room

Carpet in the bathroom? Yep - for a little while anyway. Until bathroom #2 gets finished.

Carpet Guys are Here!

I am sitting in C's closet waiting for the carpet guys to finish putting in the fabulous new carpet. So, while I wait, I figured I'd update here with a couple semi-recent pictures.
Got this from Z Gallery for C's room. I can't go wrong with crystals when it comes to that girl.

Island kind of installed.

The back wall of cabinets are supposed to be a breakfast nook, but I think it might be a good place to hang coats, etc.

I dry-walled that myself. Sweet sanding job if I might say so.

I have a toilet!
